What is the pelvic floor?

  • The pelvic floor is a group of muscles in your pelvis which supports normal bladder, bowel, and sexual function.

  • It also plays a critical role in the way your “core” functions and stabilizes.

  • Pelvic floor issues can be experienced by any body, meaning any person across the gender and sexuality spectrum

  • Pelvic floor issues can be seen at any age, even in children

  • Pelvic floor dysfunction is one of the most underreported issues for patients.

  • It is associated most frequently with pregnancy and post-partum, however pelvic floor disorders can affect patients at any age and of any gender.

  • At Arrow Physical Therapy, we treat pelvic floor patients ranging from youth athletes to those going through menopause.
